Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas cont

Four more cards created with the Simply Scrapbooking Christmas Jingle kit.
If you are one of my closest friends or family members you will be getting one of these wonderful creations in the mail shortly! Hope you enjoy my card share.

Its starting to look a lot like Christmas

The top 3 cards (more to come) are created from the Simply Scrapbooking Christmas Jingle. The last card was made with the Wondering Words set.
The Simply Scrapbooking kits make cardmaking extremely simple. I cased www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources for some tutorials on how to cut the paper so that you will get 60 or more cards.... I guess I couldn't quite figure that out, I think with half of the kit I made 15-18 cards. (I cannot remember the Demo's name there was about 2-3 different sets)

under construction

My fiance and I decided to (ok we didnt, I did) that I required more space (than the kitchen area) to build my business and to craft in. So we are in the process of moving offices. I will be vacating my bedroom office for the basement which is much HUGER (is that a word?) in the very near future. So in the mean time, I cannot create : ( I am very sad about this. Not only that but I have just started my very first Hostess Stamp Club!! Very happy about this.

My Story

I was introduced to Stampin' Up! by a friend in 2005.Who was a SU! demo, but she was also a consultant with another scrapbooking company. I had asked her what Stampin' Up! was all about and she said "why not come by on this day and see?" She was having a Stampin' Up! Open house where she was selling off all of her retired stamp sets.
After that, she and her upline would have a Stamp-a-Stack After that, she and her upline would have a Stamp-a-Stack usually monthly, where they would (I thought anyways) design a set of 4 cards and then we would come and make them.

Lets fast forward a bit. Last Christmas I think I really shocked her by calling her up and placing a $300 order. What would happen is I would check out the Stampin' Up! website for their monthly deals. Well I guess last December they were having something on sale that I REALLY needed to own.

This past April I really put some thought into what home based business I wanted to work for again (I was a Weekender Ladies Wear Consultant in 1995-98) but didn't want to have to order new inventory every season. I saw the promotion on in late April/May where you could join for $95 (Cnd). (and no inventory required!!)

I spoke to the SU! Demo that I had been ordering from and asked her about signing up with her. She told me sadly she would love to have me as part of her downline, but because she had been sick (breast cancer) last year she had decided to step back and retire from SU! I was very sadden to hear that. She had mentioned there was this other lady in town who she and I both knew and suggested that I sign up under her. So just under the wire to sign up for the $95 I became a Demo this past May 29/09.

So although I have just started my business, I am ready to assist you with your stamping and scrapbooking needs.

other thank you cards

I have been participating in some different card swaps in recent months, and decided I was going to make a new Thank you card for each of the hosts of the swaps. I used two things that I don't normally use, one was my cbug, the other was the Stampin' Up pastels. This is a very simple card and the colors are very lite I'm not sure that they will even be seen on here. I can see a tad bit of green on it and thats it. Oh well.

thank you cards with business cards inside

I have signed up to do this LNSBootCamp@yahoogroups.com and one of the challenges was to create a card that holds your personal business card. These cards are all made with scraps that I had sitting around in my drawers!! I think they are cute and they were very easy to create. Sherrill suggested to use the card on page 194 of the IB & C. I just love using the Fun and Fast Notes easy peasy!!

new friends

So Im like reading my email today and I noticed that I got a message on a post that I replied to. There is this new Demo who signed up about the same time as I did. Shes having some problems with her upline. I hope that I gave her enough advice on what to do. I even volunteered to send swaps to her!!

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

feeling the excitement!

Just came home from my meeting with my Upline... saw how creative my fellow demo's can be. Had a really good chat and now Im ready to step ahead and get ready to do... Do what you may ask? Perhaps sign up for a regional type training, (would love to go to Convention) maybe next year!

new card sample

Ok so I spent most of yesterday afternoon, and most of the morning finishing off my card!! ( ok so its not completly finished waiting for embellisments!)But I have finished all the stamping part and card folding.... have some paper cutting left and sticking it all down onto the card base. It does already look very impressive... I hope the swappers like it! : )

Monday, July 6, 2009

new technique

Well today I was busy trying to finish off my 5/6 card swap. This technique is called "spotlighting" OMG this is very trying. I do much better with a sample to copy in my hand!! Oh well... paper is cheap and it was a NVR so I could use any supplies I wanted to use! I will post the finish product when I receive my next order as I need to add embellishments to it and I do not have any that are not SU (however I guess I could use any type)

Sunday, July 5, 2009

samples

I have been busy looking at samples published from many SU Demo's across Canada, and the US. I have to say you are all very crafty people. I have recently signed up for a few swaps so I hope to have a good selection of "demos" to offer at classes this fall.

I have already made two projects that I am going to do as classes, and hope that the participants enjoy them as much as I do!

About

I am Leanna. I started scrapbooking about 16 years ago (wow thats when I got married; not married anymore). That is so scary!! Anyways, I started stamping about 5 years ago (not as scary!) I have to say that both hobbies are addictive, time consuming and can get expensive!! This is the main reason why I recently signed up with Stampin’ Up! You can too! http://leannabailey.stampinup.net When you sign up you get to choose your kit, (worth much more than what you pay for it!) and you get to make purchases at a discout!!

Moving on more about me….

I live in Northern BC Canada, with my wonderful boyfriend (who supports my habit) oops he supports my Stampin’ Up! business, my four-legged companions: PJ (who is at least 18 yrs old) my cat, and Digger (12 yrs old) golden red toy poodle. I guess I would consider them my “children”.
My “day” job (although its not really as I work casual) is as a Care Aide for Northern Health. Ok you have no idea on what a Care Aide does right? So I take care of elderly people in care homes. I assist/provide care for the resident and make sure that they are being taken cared of. No I am not a Nurse!!
June 29, 2009
Hello world!
Well, here I am. I have to say that I have never enjoyed journaling (maybe I would lose more weight if I did) however I believe that this is a new “medium” for people to get noticed. So here goes….
I signed up with Stampin’ Up! one month ago today! Wow! I have been busy trying out the supplies that came with my kit. I had signed up with a $99 deal to Stampin’ Up! and thought this was a good way for me to support my crafting habit. I have been able to secure a place in the fall to start my classes so look out community here I come!!
I would like to Inspire people to Create on their own, and to Share their designs. On that note, I would love to have you on my team, to join go to http://leanna.bailey.stampinup.net and click on the Join button. You can email me as well to order your new 2009-2010 Stampin’ Up! catalog. All I can say is wow! My new wish list is huge.
Did you know that papercrafting, scrapbooking and cardmaking especially (lucky for us) is in a market that is recession proof? With all the companies going broke, and people being laid off ( I was one of you 2 years ago) that home base businesses are taking off? If you find that you need that little bit of extra income go ahead and click on the join button.

Classes

I have been working with Andrea who is the contact person for the Vanway Community Association. They have volunteers set up different classes during the week. We have found a place (yahoo) and times/date to be held. The Comm. Ass. charges a small fee, and then I have a class fee that is also need to pay for the costs of supplies.
I have set up that classes will run from September 15th and run until December 10 2009. The time for these classes is 6:30 pm to 8: 30pm. All particapants are then encouraged to create the class “project”. After we are finished with the class, the students are able to order the items used in the day’s project.
There will be some classes that include a pre made kit. Some kits may have an additional charge and will need to be preordered. Class schedule will be ready soon. Come and check it out!
